Alejandra Rojo (Ph. D. in Education, University of Toronto)
Alejandra specializes in the use and adoption of electronic communication and hypermedia (especially in professional communities), and she designs and evaluates distributed multimedia.
She conducts audience needs analyses, information mapping and designs and implements solutions for communication, knowledge management and training.
Alejandra developed Port of Entry an English and Spanish project oriented to promote trade and information exchange in the Americas. She also developed eFORUMS web site, a popular resource on electronic forums for users and researchers of electronic communication. She has published in specialized journals on the issue of online professional communities and distributed multimedia. A clinical psychologist in her native Chile and Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Chile, Alejandra developed her new professional interests and earned her Ph.D. when she came to live in Canada.

Ricardo Baeza-Yates (Ph. D. in Computer Science, University of Waterloo)
Ricardo Baeza-Yates is Director of Yahoo! Research Barcelona, Spain and Yahoo! Research Latin America at Santiago, Chile. Until 2005 he was the director of the Center for Web Research at the Department of Computer Science of the Engineering School of the University of Chile; and ICREA Professor at the Dept. of Technology of Univ. Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. He maintains ties with both mentioned universities as a part-time professor.
His research interests includes algorithms and data structures, information retrieval, web mining, text and multimedia databases, software and database visualization, and user interfaces.
Ricardo has provided Port of Entry with a powerful search engine, based in TodoCL (www.todocl.cl) to search the sites www.portofentry.com y www.medioambienteonline.com. Furthermore, this search engine is the heart of RENVS Relevant Environmental Search a search engine in English and Spanish: www.renvs.com and www.renvs-es.com a new development from Port of Entry that works with human edition.

Julie Cochrane
Julie is the Executive Director of Creative House. She
has more than 20 years of communication and design experience. After studying at the Ontario College of Art and doing her time in the corporate wheel, Julie followed her dream and took her entrepreneurial spirit to Australia, where she launched a tourism magazine, The Tasmanian Backpacker. Returning to Toronto in 1989, Julie established her own communications firm Creative House. The firm now employs a diverse array of creative types and manages web and communications projects for the likes of HydroOne, Triax Capital and McMillan Binch.

Cecilia developed managing and business capabilities as the owner of a SME in the retail business for over 10 years. She has an earlier trajectory as a social researcher. She carried out several research projects for Latin American research centers such as Centro de Planificación y Estudios Sociales, CEPLAES, Quito, Ecuador, and NGO such as Corporación de Salud y Políticas Públicas, CORSAPS, Santiago, Chile. Cecilia was in charge of designing the research projects and developing the tools to collect data, coordinating the processing and analysis of data, and writing and publishing the report. She has also participated in market research doing interviews to high level managers and professionals for MERCAPLAN, Quito, Ecuador.
Cecilia is experienced in coordinating the co-joint work of institutions and researchers as well as in working within the frame of international cooperation programs.
